A partnership founded in 1976, Felton Empire took over the Hallcrest site following founder Chaffee Hall’s retirement. The winery gained a reputation for Late Harvest Rieslings, as well as producing Cabernets from Beauregard Ranch. The partnership was dissolved in the 1980s and in 1987, John Schumacher and his family bought the site and restored the Hallcrest name. See also Beauregardand Hallcrest
