History

Founded by Bill and Brenda Murphy. Bill was HP executive until retiring in 2000.

1987: Planted Chardonnay in 1.25-acre Saratoga garden. 1992: First commercial vintage (500 cases bottled at Cinnabar). Shared production space with Roudon-Smith, Savannah-Chanelle, and Mirassou.

1999: Planted 85-acre vineyard adjacent to Cordevalle golf course in San Martin. 2002: Winery opened.

CK Vines (named after Murphy daughters) manages 30 acres of backyard vineyards in Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley AVAs.
