Although there is some phonetic and semantic overlap, the words slave and servant need to be treated separately, because officials are often attributed as servants to gods/society.

Since kings treated their people as slaves, and neighboring nations treated their enemies as slaves, the words for slaves, underlings, foreigners and many ethnicities are often related.
Since everyone is affected, one should not dismiss such connections due to political correctness ( or bad linguistics), even though words involved often have negative connotations.

Often these words are also related to sex workers, man and women, boys and girls
