Simple as 1, 2, 3 and the best way to discover tofu! You can eat it with anything you'd like, but here I suggest a peanut/tahini sauce to top it.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients (Tofu) :
- 1 Block of tofu (Firm)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ a cup of Nutritional Yeast Flakes
Ingredients (Sauce) :
- ½ a cup of tahini
- ½ a cup of peanut butter
- ½ a cup of water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast Flakes
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Crumble the tofu in small bites in a bowl (important to crumble, not cut, it's gonna help the texture).
- Add the liquid ingredients and mix.
- Add the nutritional yeast and mix.
- Put the tofu on a baking tray (ideally with parchment paper) and send it in the oven for 25 minutes.
- While the tofu is cooking, start some rice and vegetables.
- Mix all the ingredients of your chosen sauce. Add a little bit of water if it's too thick.
- When the tofu is cooked, put it on a bed of rice and pour the sauce on top. Serve with vegetables and enjoy !
Note : You can also eat this tofu with anything, for example in wraps or salads. I once tried it in a general tao sauté and it was delicious! I suggest this sauce.
