Error Analysis Tutorial - ngageoint/voxel-globe GitHub Wiki

There are two apps for determining the model error, "Georegistration Error Analysis" and "Modeling Error Analysis."

Georegistration Error Analysis

"Georegistration Error Analysis" is good for determining the georegistration error. It works by using tie points the same way they were used in "Camera Georegistration." Once you create the control points and tie points, start by clicking "Georegistration Error Analysis." Next select the image collection you want analyzed, the camera set, and then the scene associated with that image collection. Once that is done, the calculations will start. The task results will show up on your Tasks menu in the top right when the error calculations are finished.

Modeling Error Analysis

"Modeling Error Analysis" is good for determining the modeling error. Unlike the "Georegistration Error Analysis," this uses a single DEM for determining the error. After creating control points and DEM tie points using the "Tie Point Creator" on a Height Map, start by selecting "Modeling Error Analysis." Next, select the DEM to use. Again, all tie points associated with control points are found, and used to calculate the modeling error. The task results will show up on your Tasks menu in the top right when the error calculations are finished.

Both of these error analysis should occur within seconds of starting.
