DEM Tutorial - ngageoint/voxel-globe GitHub Wiki

Once a voxel world has been generated, a DEM based on the voxel world can be created. This DEM can be downloaded as a geotiff (using the Download app) or used the in "Modeling Error Analysis"

To order a DEM, start the "Order DEM generation" app, and select the Voxel world to use.

A DEM will be created using the scene bounding box size, and ingested as another image as part of the Height Maps Image Set. It will be accessible from other apps such as Image Viewer and Tie Point Creator.

The Tie Point Creator works a little different on DEM images. Instead of using a KRT camera, an approximate geo cameras is used instead. This means tie points project straight down. These tie points are used for the "Modeling Error Analysis."

Upon selecting a voxel world, the min and max height will be displayed. Sometimes it is useful to specify a custom "render height", to generated a DEM image underneath the noise that sometimes accumulates in the top of a voxel world.

Click submit when you have made your choices, and wait for your DEM to be generated.
