June 3 Julie presented brief timeline of paradigm shifts and technology advances in microbial ecology; talked about where the field is going.
I'm feeling stagnant, what can I do?
- DOE Joint Genome Institute's Integrated Microbial Genomes and Metagenomes (IMG) webinars
- National Marine Sanctuaries webinar series. In the archived seminars, there is a talk by Katie Lohr, former PhD with Josh Patterson, now a Knauss Fellow
- Bioinformatics Virtual Coordination Network BVCN, led by Ben Tully - these are youtube tutorials on bioinformatic data analysis
- Georgia Aquarium live webcam
- Monterey Bay Aquarium live webcams - chose from coral reef, sharks, otters, kelp forest, and more
- MicroSeminar channel on YouTube - large archive on a variety of microbiology topics, downside is videos are only labeled with speaker's name (not topic).
