In the vast ocean
A lightship approaches its destination
Slowing from afar and ever gradually
Anchors down and beacons on
Stabilize the field there I am
Shining without searching
I am the halogram
No wind to chase
No course to chart
Just steady light and open heart
I hold my place and do not roam
Yet all who seek will find their home
A silent guide through wave and mist
No need to move
Just to exist
I am the beacon

Commentary: My presence (in the form of guidance, advise, mentorship, coaching) as a offering to the world makes me somewhat like a lighthouse. Yet, I don’t like the idea of immobility onto a rock. Is there a ship that function as a lighthouse? There is and it is called lightship or lightvessel. Lightships were traditionally used when that part of the ocean is not suitable for lighthouse construction. I think this idea of a lightship fits me. I am not sailing to my destination and approaching my destination. I am just gliding to my destination before I put down my anchors then turn on my beacon. My presence is my offering. This meant that my life moving forward is shifting from doing (like a ship sailing, steering, and maneuvering) to just be (like a lightship). If no one around, I will just shine anyway as the beacon of a lighthouse / lightship is not conditional on the presence of ships nearby.
