Commentary: 福禄寿三星的“福”代表什么呢？福，是不是有禄有寿呢？历代的“五福临门”都逃不过禄与寿. But I have a different view… 福，有鸿福与清福。鸿福 is the loud happiness and more external locus of happiness; such as, feasting, 鸿宴之福, clubbing, money, status, sex, stimulus, etc. 清福 is simple happiness and more internal locus of happiness; such as, reading, enough to eat, 粗茶淡饭之福, meditation, casual chat with friends, etc. So, 清福 is more like 孔颜之乐，老庄之福. To enjoy 鸿福 and 清福, you need to first 知天命 then 知足.
