Updating
KiroTux is a rolling release, like Arch Linux and Kiro. Update the whole system in a terminal:
sudo pacman -Syu
Update regularly, and read the output before you confirm.
System updates through pacman come from the same repositories as Kiro, and they are never held back.
Premium components
Your donation covers every update to the premium settings app of your edition. Updates come as the app grows;
there is no fixed schedule, and KiroTux News on your desktop tells you when one is ready. Open the download link you
got with your donation (on Ko-fi under Payment History): the newest package is in the app's folder there
(kirotux-hyprland-premium or kirotux-niri-premium), with a README. The last 3 versions stay there, so you can
go back if an update doesn't suit you.
The update is a package file. Install it from the folder you downloaded it to:
sudo pacman -U kirotux-hyprland-premium-26.10-16-any.pkg.tar.zst
Use the real file name; for Niri it starts with kirotux-niri-premium-.
Your own settings stay as they are; restart the app (Ctrl + Alt + H) to use the new version.
Kiro Google Drive

Instead of downloading from the browser, you can mount the download folder in your home folder with Kiro Google
Drive (in your menu after a system update). Sign in with Google, paste the folder link from your donation email,
and the folder shows up under ~/GoogleDrive, mounted again at every login. Access is read-only: the app can look
and download, never change anything on the Drive. Once a day it checks the folder, and Kiro News tells you when a
new ISO or premium app is there. Then open a terminal in that folder and run sudo pacman -U with the package name.
See the video KIROTUX 012.

New ISOs
Your donation also covers every new ISO of your edition, through the same download link. Only an ISO that is substantially different, such as a new edition with another desktop, is a separate product.
A new ISO comes out roughly every 4 to 6 months, as work allows.
You don't need a new ISO to stay up to date: an installed system updates with pacman.
New ISOs are for new installations. See Release Notes.
