Edition: Hyprland Noctalia

Hyprland is a tiling Wayland compositor with smooth animations. Noctalia is the desktop shell on top of it: the bar, app launcher, control center, notifications, wallpaper, lock screen and session menu. Hyprland only places the windows; everything else on screen is Noctalia.

What's on the desktop

  • Bar with workspaces, the active window, media, system tray, clock and quick settings
  • App launcher (Super + D or Super + Space)
  • Control center (Super + S) and Noctalia settings (Super + Shift + S)
  • Wallpapers through Variety (Alt + N for the next one) and the Noctalia wallpaper selector (Super + Shift + W)
  • Lock screen (Super + Alt + L) and logout menu (Super + X)
  • Screenshots with Print (region) and Super + Print (whole screen), saved to ~/Pictures/Screenshots and copied to the clipboard
  • Premium settings app (Ctrl + Alt + H), see Premium Settings App

Working with windows

Windows tile automatically. Super + arrow keys move focus; Super + Shift + arrow keys swap windows. Super + Shift + Space toggles floating, Super + F goes fullscreen, and Super + G groups windows into tabs.

There are ten workspaces (Super + 1 to 0) and a scratchpad (Super + U).
