Setting up localizer - josalggui/MaRGE GitHub Wiki
Step-by-Step Tutorial for Configuring the Localizer Sequence
The Localizer sequence provides a quick, low-resolution overview of the field of view (FOV) and is typically the first imaging step. Follow the instructions below to configure and run the Localizer sequence effectively.
Step 1: Select the Localizer Sequence
- Open the main window of MaRGE and navigate to the Custom tab.
- From the sequence list, select Localizer.
Step 2: Configure the Localizer Sequence
- Adjust the Localizer parameters according to your imaging requirements.
- Be sure to consider the needs of your study when selecting FOV, resolution, and timing parameters.
- When selecting the FoV, remember it must be at the center. Do not displace the FoV.
Step 3: Set the Orientation Inputs
- Switch to the Others tab.
- Locate the Planes input. This parameter is a list of three elements corresponding to:
- Sagittal
- Transversal
- Coronal
- Set each element to 0 or 1:
- 1 = acquire this orientation
- 0 = skip this orientation
- Example:
- Setting
Planesto [1, 1, 0] will acquire sagittal and transversal views only.
- Setting
Step 4: Set the Readout Direction (Positive or Negative)
- Go to the Others tab.
- Find the RD direction input. This parameter is a list of three elements corresponding to:
- Readout sign for the sagittal image
- Readout sign for the transversal image
- Readout sign for the coronal image
- Set each element to 1 or -1:
- 1 = use a positive readout gradient
- -1 = use a negative readout gradient
- Example:
- Setting
RD directionto [1, 1, -1] acquires sagittal and transversal images with a positive readout gradient and coronal with a negative readout gradient.
- Setting
Step 5: Set the Readout Axis
- In the Others tab, locate the RD axis input.
- This parameter is also a list of three elements corresponding to:
- Readout axis for the sagittal image
- Readout axis for the transversal image
- Readout axis for the coronal image
- Set each element to 0, 1, or 2:
- 0 = x-axis
- 1 = y-axis
- 2 = z-axis
- Example:
- Setting
RD axisto [0, 1, 2] uses the x-axis for sagittal readout, y-axis for transversal, and z-axis for coronal.
- Setting
Step 6: Save the Localizer Configuration
- In the Sequence toolbar, click the Save for Calibration button to save your settings.
Step 7: Run the Localizer Sequence
- Click the Localizer button .
- A Localizer sequence will be added to the history list for each orientation selected in the Planes parameter.
- The system will then acquire the requested Localizer images based on your configuration.
By completing these steps, you ensure that the Localizer sequence is properly set up and executed, providing the essential preliminary imaging overview for your study.
