qBittorrent
Remote connects directly to qBittorrent's Web API. Enable the Web UI in qBittorrent before adding the server in Remote.
Enable Web UI
In qBittorrent, open Tools > Options > Web UI:
- Enable Web User Interface (Remote control).
- Choose the listening address and port. The common port is
8080. - Configure a username and a strong password.
- Review qBittorrent's host-header, CSRF, and authentication bypass settings before exposing the service.
For Docker installations, publish the Web UI port and make sure the device running Remote can reach the host.
Connect from Remote
Open Settings > Servers > Add Server, select qBittorrent, and enter the Web UI host, port, and credentials. The path is normally empty.
Examples:
- LAN:
http://192.168.1.20:8080 - HTTPS reverse proxy:
https://qbit.example.com
Tap Test Connection before saving.
Remote access
Prefer a VPN such as WireGuard or Tailscale, or a carefully configured HTTPS reverse proxy. Avoid forwarding an unencrypted, weakly authenticated Web UI directly to the public internet.
Remote Pro can store a second endpoint for the same server, such as a LAN URL plus a VPN or HTTPS URL. See Multi-Server.
