Overview

Cradle is one of many universes under the control of the Abidan. Inhabitants of this world are capable of using the sacred arts, a form of energy and power manipulation which grants them unique abilities.

Geography

Cradle is an enormous planet and the inhabitants of our story have only explored a small portion of it. However, scholars have measured the curvature of the planet and made rough calculations based on land density, gravitational strength, and atmospheric conditions. The current best estimate is that Cradle is home to at least 300 billion souls.

Continents

Currently known continents consist of:

• Ashwind - The eastern half of the continent is home to Monarch Seshethkunaaz and his Dragon Realm. The western half is home to Monarch Akura Malice and her vassals: the Blackflame Empire, the Seishen Kingdom, Sky's Edge, the Wastelanders, etc.
• Everwood - A lush continent filled with life and untamed wilderness. It is governed by Emriss Silentborn, Queen of the Everwood Continent and Monarch of Titan's Grove.
• Iceflower - A frigid domain inhabited primarily by sacred artists on ice paths.
• Rosegold - Governed by Emperor and Monarch Reigan Shen who took control after the death of his long time rival in the aftermath of the Dread War.
• Ninecloud - Home of the Ninecloud Court and governed by Sha Miara, Monarch of the Ninecloud continent.

History

The Dread War

The Dread War was an apocalyptic event in the history of Cradle. It started well over 500 years ago, when a Dreadgod called the Wandering Titan started digging into the Labyrinth. It ended when much of the vast Ashwind continent was in ashes and billions were dead, including ten Monarchs.

The Dread War started with twelve Monarchs attacking the Wandering Titan in an attempt to finally destroy the Dreadgods. However, the other three Dreadgods awoke to defend their brother, and this began the greatest slaughter of Monarchs since the creation of Cradle. In the same year as it started, the Dread War concluded.

An important piece of knowledge was gained by this short war: When one of the Dreadgods dies, the others inherit its power until it is reborn. They become smarter. Stronger. And the hunger takes hold.

Monarchs

Monarch is the highest level of advancement the sacred artist can obtain without ascending from the iteration. Their power is nearly limitless. They do not age, often living for centuries but looking quite young. As such, they always play a major role in the course of Cradle's history.
