In GnollHack, certain wands can have a quality modifier. The quality modifier increases the wand's base damage.

• Exceptional wands deal 2x base damage
• Elite wands deal 3x base damage

For example, a normal wand of fire deals 4d6 damage, while an exceptional wand of fire deals 8d6 damage.

Wands with Quality Modifiers

The following wands can have quality modifiers:

• Wand of nothing (does not do anything)
• Wand of striking
• Wand of magic missile
• Wand of fire
• Wand of cold
• Wand of lightning
