Patient Portal for Channelling

The Patient Portal allows patients to view their own upcoming and past channel bookings without visiting the front desk. It can be used by reception staff to show a patient their appointment history, or made available as a self-service terminal in the waiting area.

Navigation

Menu → Channelling → Patient Portal

Requires the ChannelPatientPortal privilege.

What the Portal Shows

When a patient's record is loaded, the portal displays:

  • Upcoming appointments — future session instances the patient is booked into, with consultant name, speciality, date, time, and serial number.
  • Past appointments — historical bookings, including cancelled and refunded ones.
  • Booking status — active, rescheduled, cancelled, refunded.

How to Look Up a Patient

  1. Search for the patient by name, phone number, or patient ID using the search field.
  2. Select the patient from the results.
  3. Their appointment history loads automatically.

Printing an Appointment Summary

A printable appointment card or summary can be generated from the portal for the patient to take away. This is useful when the patient has lost their original booking receipt.

Self-Service Use

In facilities where a kiosk or tablet is set up for patient self-service, the Patient Portal page can be configured as the landing page. Patients can look themselves up and confirm their appointment details.

Online Booking Integration

Patients who booked via the mobile app or online channel will see those bookings listed alongside bookings made at the front desk. The source (online or front-desk) is indicated on each booking.
