Materials - hjake123/reactive GitHub Wiki

Materials are customizable blocks you can create and name using the Crucible.

Each material's appearance and characteristics are dictated by which Properties it is given during the crafting process.

Obtaining

Material Blocks are created by adding one of the four material bases into a Crucible with at least 50% total power present. The resulting material depends on the base used, as well as the types and quantities of power inside it. After creating a Material, all Power in the Crucible is used up.

When you craft a material, how many items from the stack can be converted at once depends on which base you use. For maximum efficiency, it's best to use as many at once as you're allowed.

After a Material has been crafted once, it is registered into the world's save data, and the same Material will be made again if you use the same base and all Powers are within 6.25% of the original.

Base: Salt Block

Salt Blocks are the simplest base material. They provide one output for every one input, and can take a whole stack of inputs at once.

Base: Adept Salt Blocks

Adept Salt Blocks provide four Material blocks for each block you put in, but can only take 32 input items at once. Also, when used for material crafting, the resulting material will have a x1.34 multiplier applied to all power used before the Properties of the material are chosen.

Base: Creation Salt Blocks

These provide 16 Material blocks per block input, and can process up to 16 input per craft. They also have a 2x multiplier to power effectiveness.

Naming

Once created, Materials can be "discovered" and given a custom name at a Discovery Desk. When you name a material, you become registered as the one who first discovered it, and anyone who makes it in the future will see the name you gave it as the canonical name of that substance in this world.

Usage

Once made, Material blocks can be placed and broken like an ordinary block. They do not require any special tool to collect.
