The Discovery Desk is used to give names to Materials, and to view their Formula.

Obtaining

The Discovery Desk can be made by transmuting a Lectern with Mind and Light.

Usage

The Discovery Desk has a menu when right clicked. Place a Material Block into the open slot to start.

The formula for the material will appear on the right, and a "Discover" button will appear. Click "Discover" to open the naming screen.

Choose any name you want, then click "Discover" to set the name to that.

The Discovery Desk will now feature a "Rename" button instead, which you can use to reset the name. Note that only the player who first discovered a Material is allowed to rename it, outside of cheats.

List Button

The lightbulb icon in the corner of the interface opens a list of every discovered Material in the world. You can click on a material in this list to see its Formula (and thus, how to make it).
