Statuses

Some statuses have a parameter X. When an ability says something like "the target gains +1 [status]", X is incremented, or set to the number listed if the target was not suffering from that status already. The parameter X is reduced by 1 at the end of the target's turn, after any other "end of turn" effects resolve.

Bleed X

The affected character has +1 Bane on Incapacity Rolls.

Blinded X

Abilities used by the affected character have their range halved (rounded up) and attacks targeting enemies in nonadjacent spaces are at +1 Bane.

Burning X

The affected character takes Fatigue at the end of their turn. If they take the Recover action, this status ends.

Shocked X

The affected character has +1 Bane on Panic Rolls.

Slowed X

The affected character has -2 Speed and cannot use Evasion.

Hamstrung X

If the affected character makes an Attack, they become Dazed.

Vulnerable X

When the affected character takes Fatigue or Stress, they take an additional X Fatigue or Stress (respectively) and this status ends.

Weakened X

The affected character has +1 Bane on all offensive rolls.

Other Conditions

Mark X

Does not have any inherent effect, but some offensive abilities behave differently against targets with this condition. Does not count as a status and unlike statuses this does not tick down on its own at the end of the affected character's turns.

Dazed

The affected character has +1 Bane on rolls made to defend against attacks. When the affected character takes Fatigue or Stress from an enemy ability, this effect ends.

Immobilized

Affected character cannot move except via teleportation or being moved by another effect.

Disoriented

When the affected character tries to move to an adjacent space, they must roll 2d6. On a result of 7 they move as intended and this effect ends. If the result is greater than 7, count a number of spaces clockwise from 8 to the result beginning with the intended destination on 8. They move instead to the resulting space (so, on an 8 they move to the intended position). If the result is less than 7, instead count down to the result starting with 6, proceeding counterclockwise.

Stunned

The affected character can Move, Act or take a Stance on their turn, but only one. At the end of their turn, this effect ends.

Buffs

Hidden

Abilities targeting the affected character have their range halved (rounded up) and abilities targeting them from nonadjacent spaces are at +1 Bane. The condition ends if the affected character targets an enemy with any ability or is targeted by an enemy from an ajdacent space.

Hastened

Affected character has +2 Speed and +1 Boon on Evasion rolls

Special Conditions

The following conditions cannot be directly applied by Abilities, but have special mechanics surrounding their application and removal, described in Fatigue, Stress and Incapacity.

Exhausted

Characters are Exhausted whenever their Fatigue Load exceeds their Fatigue Tolerance. Exhausted characters have +1 Bane on all Offensive rolls.

Frayed

Characters are Frayed while their Stress Load exceeds their Stress Tolerance. Frayed characters have +1 Bane on all Defensive rolls.

Incapacitated

Incapacitated is a special condition that only results from failing an Incapacity Roll. Upon becoming Incapacitated, any current Stance ends, and Incapacitated characters cannot Move, take Actions or take Stances until they are no longer Incapacitated.
