Forced Stereo: Championship Edition - ern2150/FVCR GitHub Wiki

First Broadcast: 20210401 Length: 01:40:00

Summary: 99 minutes of music videos and interstitials.
The first 80ish minutes were ones that had been broadcast before as part of the stream's Opening (often referred to as "the Intro(s)", but not to be confused with the introductory parts of a mixtape itself).
Most take a video source (like the trailer for an IFD movie or the intro theme of an anime) and mix it with a song that wasn't there originally, but still "matches" -- shots will change or actors will move, seemingly on the beat. Some video sources already have perfect audio (Daicon IV's ELO's Twilight et al), but most are a mix.

Notes

Over-explanation of the evolution of Forced Stereo: The mixtapes themselves edit together clips from various sources, 99% of the time retaining their original audio.
The 2019 and early 2020 stream Openers, by contrast, were largely focused on running a cool music playlist (by MF Doom and YMO, for example) while unrelated cool video (Ultraman) played, usually with some indication that you were waiting for the stream to start, or waiting to vote on a set of mixtapes to replay.
The stream Closers (sometimes called "the Outro") usually had their audio and video more in-sync: most of the time the audio would be Vic Sepanski - Starglide (just like the closing parts of a mixtape itself always ended with Greatest Sports Legends credits with this music). Some of the time the visuals (Cynthia Rothrock's Defend Yourself "motion capture" footage, for example) would match the length of the song more or less on purpose.
Eventually in the Openers or Vote segments, a song would accidentally line up with the visual at a crucial time, and this led to creating more deliberately timed Music Videos. These then became the norm for the Stream Opener in mid-2020: 5 or 6 Music Videos before the host would introduce himself and start the first mixtape.
New music videos would be added and others rotated out over the following months, usually ending in an identifiable "end" video: for awhile alternating Sentai footage set to Lindberg's Rush Life, eventually a specific compilation (Lookie) set to Doktor Plektor’s Kavo. At some point, a 10-minute timeclock was added to make it clear the stream hadn't properly "started" yet.
FVCR was also working on various other video efforts outside the stream that generated music videos. As all of these collected, eventually there were enough to compile some into a special mixtape called Forced Stereo Volume One (20200716) which was around 30 minutes long. As more and more were created, a second compilation came out called Forced Stereo Deluxe (20200827) which was around 45 minutes long (and incorporated some of the same videos as Volume One).
Sometimes these Music Video openers would run as late as 40 minutes into stream time, which eventually gave FVCR the idea for a fun April Fool's prank -- what if the "Intros" never stopped, and became longer than a mixtape itself?
