Similar to particles, but with better performance, in exchange of limited features. If you want to use a lot of particles and you don't require any of the special features, this might be a better choice.

Limitations

• There are no aspect, rotate, stretch attributes.
• There is no -vary option for the color, alpha and size attributes.
• The source attribue does not have the -torus and -ring options.
• Forces cannot have attractors.
• There are no maps, warps, random walks, paths, loopBox, and phyisics attribute.
