Several people can use one hdtracker, each with an account of their own. An admin creates the accounts – nobody can register themselves.
Available from version 0.8.0; tracking together from 0.9.0.

In the app, nobody sees the library of somebody else – admins included. The one exception is a title you decide to track together with somebody.
Admins can read everything through a backup. A backup admins download under Settings → Maintenance contains the whole database: every library, and the notification targets of everybody (Pushover keys, webhook headers). Only make people admin you would trust with that. See Privacy and security → Several accounts.

- The account created on the first start is an admin. So is the account you already had before updating to 0.8.0.
- There can be several admins.
- One admin who can log in always remains: the last one cannot be made a normal user, locked or deleted.
Adding a user
- Open Settings → Users and press Add a user.
- Enter a username (3–32 characters: letters, digits,
_ . -). Switch on Admin if the account should manage the installation too. - Press Create. hdtracker shows a temporary password – only this once.
- Hand username and password over in person.
- On the first login the new user has to choose a password of their own (at least 10 characters). Nothing else can be opened before that.
A new account starts with an empty library and in your interface language; both are theirs to change.
Managing accounts
The list under Settings → Users shows for every account: name, role, the number of tracked titles and the last login. Tap an account to open it.

You cannot lock or delete your own account.
No admin can log in any more? The password reset on the server works for every account, admins included.
Profile
Under Settings → Account everybody chooses how they appear:
- Display name – shown instead of the username. Left empty, the username is shown. A name can only be used by one person.
- Profile picture – upload a photo, or keep the first letter of your name on a colour (New colour picks another one).
The username itself stays the name you log in with. Besides you, only admins see it.
An uploaded photo is cut to a small square and saved anew. Nothing else of the original file is kept – no location, no camera data.
Your picture at the top right opens the menu with the settings and logging out.
Tracking together
Two or more people can keep one state of a title: its status and the watched episodes. Whoever ticks off an episode does so for all of them. Available from version 0.9.0.
The symbol for it only appears once there is a second account that can log in.
Inviting
- Open a title of your library – its page, or the window that changes its status.
- Tap the symbol next to the bell (a person with a plus).
- Choose whom to invite. The invitation stays open until it is answered; Withdraw takes it back.
To invite somebody to several titles at once, select them in the library first:

A bar at the bottom says how many titles are selected and offers Invite ….
Answering
- An invitation waits in the inbox (the bell in the header) and on the page of the title. It shows who invites you and their status, and links to the trailer where one is known.
- Accept: you take over the state of the person who invited you. The title is added to your library if it was not there.
- Decline: nothing changes for you. The other person is told.
Accepting replaces your own state. If you already track the title, your status and watched episodes are replaced by those of the other person. The invitation warns you about that.

- Small profile pictures in the corner of the poster, on the dashboard and on the page of the title show who tracks along.
- Too loud? Under Settings → General → Titles tracked together you can have a small symbol on posters and in lists instead. The page of a title keeps the pictures.
- Everybody who tracks along can invite further people.
Stopping

- The others are told when somebody leaves.
- Nobody can remove somebody else – everybody only leaves themselves.
- Open invitations of whoever leaves expire.
What you can be told about and where: Notifications → Tracking together.
Webhook and ntfy
These two notification targets make the server call an address somebody typed in – also one inside your home network. That is why they are reserved for admins at first.
- To allow them for everybody: Settings → Users → Rights → Webhook and ntfy for everyone.
- Switched off again later, targets that were already set up stay in the list but are no longer used.
- Notifications to one's own devices and through Pushover are open to everybody either way.
Good to know
- Backups contain the accounts and libraries of everybody. Restoring one brings all of them back to that state.
- [Export]] and [import only ever concern your own library.
- A title two people track is stored once, but each has their own status and watched episodes – unless they track it together.
- An export contains the titles you track together as well.
