Install the Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop Operating System

Wether you installed the VM or have an adequate bare metall machine, you simply start the machine and the Installation process starts. Step through the installation process. Most is self explanatory or you simply pick the default settings.

I always install the third party drivers and the media codecs.

Create a user and name the machine. Select a secure password, as this is the only barrier between the outside and the machine.

After the installation part ends, select restart and don't forget to remove the install medium. After a few seconds you will see the login screen of your fresh installed desktop.
