How to publish your work data on the Web

  • Dancing Onigiri "CW Edition" is a game that can be played without a network connection. You can play them even if you are not connected to the network. However, if you want other people to play, you need to publish the file on the web.
  • Before using a music in a game, make sure that you follow the guidelines of the music's publisher. If there are no guidelines, we will send an individual request for permission to confirm that there are no problems in releasing the music. (This is usually the case for non-commercial use as background music for a game.)

Preparation

Public server (Rental server)

  • Obtain a web-publishable rental server.

File Transfer Software

  • The following is a list of items that are likely to be used frequently. Any of these will do.
  1. WinSCP
  2. FFFTP

Complete Directory of Works

  • The files under the [danoniplus] directory are the target files. The first time, all files under the directory must be uploaded to the server. After the second time, "page files (html)" and "music files (mp3, wav, ogg)" (or chart files (txt) if the files are separated) will be fine.

Publication Procedure

  • This section shows the procedure when "WinSCP" is used as the file transfer software. The procedure is basically the same for "FFFTP" and other file transfer software.

0. Install WinSCP (first time only)

  • Once the installer launches, click [Permissions -> Standard Installation -> Commander -> Install.
    No special settings are required.

1. WinSCP setup (first time only)

  • From the rental server's website, confirm the "FTP Host Name," "FTP User Name," and "FTP Password" in advance and Add them to the WinSCP settings (the same applies to other file transfer software).

2. Login to the server from WinSCP

3. File upload

  • The left side represents the computer and the right side represents the server side. Basically, files and directories on the left side can be dragged and dropped to the right side. Drag and drop (select a file or directory with the mouse, move it to the right, and release it at the destination), and it will be reflected on the Web.
  • Moving directories is almost the same as using Explorer.
  • For Dancing Onigiri "CW Edition" The directory hierarchy must be the same as on the computer as shown below.

4. Confirmation that the work is reflected on the server

  • Finally, access the site and verify that the work can be displayed.
