Autobots roll out!
aka Lord of Spades
Rusty looks like he's assembled from large slabs of stone instead of the sheets of metal most other warforged are made from. The little bits of metal there are, are all rusted over and bright copper colored. Dirt and mud pack the cracks and grooves in his plating, and little mushrooms and flowers grow there. His stone flesh is covered with moss and lichen.
His eyes are emerald green stones. And when there aren't vines and moss covering it, a third emerald green stone can be seen in the center of his abdomen.
He looks like a shambling pile of forest floor.
Rusty was created at some point during the Last War. His memories for the most part begin some time later when he was infused with druidic magic in the heart of Darguun by Orcish shamans. The Circle of the Moon kept him ever since, and he in turn--infused further by a feeling of purpose and belonging--protected and tended to the Circle.
His primary functions were grounds keeping (tending the gardens and the groves; his integrated gardening tools, including his namesake spade, helped with this) and defending the enclave and its groves from those who would harm it. He consequently spend most of his time alone.
When The Mourning happened, those of the enclave with close connections to Dal Quor, The Dreaming, were convinced that the Dreaming Dark and the nightmare forces there were behind it.
Rusty was sent forth from the enclave to The Mourning to root out any nightmares to be found there and find the source and the cause of the blight.
The Circle of the Moon is an ancient druidic order with enclaves and groves found throughout the continent of Korvaire. As their name implies, the order's principle concern is the twelve moons orbiting Eberron and their effects on the planet: how they effect the tides, their ties to and influence over dragonmarks, their sway over lycenthropes and other shape shifters, and their connection to the 13 known planes of existence.
The Moon Grove in Darguun is the largest and the strongest. The greatest of the druids there trace their ancestry back to the continent's first people, the goblins whose empire once spanned all of Khorvaire. During the Last War, when the goblins from across Khorvaire gathered together in Darguun, the circle was able to grow in size and knowledge under the protection of their brothers and sisters. They welcome and accept students of all races, but still mostly consist of goblinoids, and Orc Greensingers who migrated to Darguun from the Eldeen Reaches during the war.
-
scholars: they are astronomers, and have extensive knowledge of the patterns of the stars and moons. (hence Rusty's navigation tools proficiency)
-
combat wild shape: Moon druids have harnessed the shape changing effects of the moons, the source of their combat wild shape, superior to the shape changing abilities of other druidic sects
-
friend to shifters: because of their academic and 1st hand shape-changing knowledge, Moon druids often provide guidance and comfort for lycanthropes
-
origin of the moons: Moon druids believe that the moons are pieces of the dragon Eberron, knocked loose from the dragon's body during battle of the creation of the world. These "Children of Eberron" long to return to Eberron, but are held at bay by Siberys, the Dragon Above. For this reason, Eberron and its Children resent Siberys. But Siberys loves the life that now inhabits Eberron, and protects them all from The Homecoming, the apocalyptic, life-ending return of the moons to the planet's surface.
-
planeswalking: certain patterns and alignments of the moons, certain configurations of orbit cause the boundaries between planes to weaken and occasionally to open wide. Circle legends tell of druids who could use the path of the moons to travel between planes.
