An Ability's Potency determines how strong the non-damaging properties of an Ability are.
- The Effect and Duration of Status Effects applied by the Ability
- The Effect of Status Effects applied by Features created by the Ability
- The chance (if not 100%) to for an Ability or Feature to apply its Effect
- Increases or decreases to Statistics
An Ability that would normally increase Movement Speed by 40% with +10% Potency would instead increase Movement Speed by 44%.
An Ability that would normally cause Crippled for 20 Segments with +20% Potency would instead last 24 Segments and the Crippled Status Effect would cause a 60% penalty to Movement Speed instead of the normal 50%.
An Ability with -10% Potency that creates some Tar would create Tar that gives a 45% penalty to Movement Speed and the Endurance cost of Physical Movement Actions instead of the normal 50% penalty.
