When you gain a level in a Class, one of the things you may gain is +1 to one of the following Masteries

• Spell Mastery
• Brewing Mastery
• Throwing Mastery
• Shapeshifting Mastery
• Melee Weapon Masteries
  • Short Blade Mastery
  • Long Blade Mastery
  • Spear Mastery
  • Blunt Weapon Mastery
  • Unarmed Mastery
  • Dual Wield Mastery
• Ranged Weapon Masteries
  • Bow Mastery
  • Crossbow Mastery
  • Throwing Mastery

Leveling up a mastery will increase the effectiveness of the associated playstyle, the pages on each individual mastery has more details about what you will gain from each level. Masteries gained from different Classes will stack with each other, so if you take levels from two different spell casting Classes, like Inquisitor and Druid, levels from both classes will increase your ability to cast all spells via Spell Mastery levels.
