A list of evenly-stepped numbers - the index sequence that index-driven patterns map over.

Category: Data | Add menu: Data > Numbers > Series

Inputs

  • Count (number): how many values to emit (default 100).
  • Start (number): the first value (default 0).
  • Step (number): the increment between values (default 1).

Outputs

  • Values (number): a list: Start, Start+Step, Start+2 x Step, ..., Count values. A Count of 0 or less gives an empty list.

What Series is for

Series is the one node that generates a bare sequence of numbers - an index list 0, 1, 2, ... N-1 (with Start 0, Step 1). Feed it into list-aware Math to turn indices into angles, radii, counts, whatever the pattern needs, and into any node that maps over a list (Point: Polar, and the transform inputs).

A list travels on a thick wire. That's what makes index-driven, parametric-count patterns possible - change Count and the whole pattern scales.
