The SnapToGaps functionality will allow for a floating client window to snap to the outer gaps of the workspace when being moved or resized.

This also applies when using floatpos to position a floating window.

The distance at which one of edges will snap is controlled via the snap setting.

If the functionality is disabled then floating windows will snap to workspace and monitor edges only.

It should be noted that if the BarPadding functionality is enabled then client windows will still snap to the value of the sidepad and vertpad configuration items, which may be the same value as the outer gaps. It will still be possible to move the window beyond that to make it touch the monitor or bar edge.
