The investigators visited on 23 November 1934. They convince the concierge that they are there to help Brooks by clearing his name in an ongoing drugs investigation. He allows them to view the apartment under his supervision.

They search the apartment and find a hidden room with an altar. On it are:

• a De La Luz record
• A poster for the upcoming album Musica de la Luz with writing on the back.
• Some nectar
• Some half-melted candles
• A mural sits above, labelled "The Maw of the Mouth is in the Devouring Mountain"

There is also a desk with letters from Dominguez, SS and an unfinished letter to Trammel from Brooks.

There is a bookcase containing some of the Echavarria collection, Children of the Night and Nahua Legends and The Womb of the Black Stone.

They completed their search and went outside onto the patio. A swarm of birds descended and attacked them. They escaped into the building and fled out the front, managing to drive away before the attackers could reach them.
