Common reasons for Wontfix - audacity/audacity GitHub Wiki
Known issues are bugs that the core Audacity team isn't looking to fix any time soon. This may be due to the following reasons:
- The issue is a bug in an underlying library (for example, FFMPEG or PortAudio). It probably will fix itself once Audacity gets updated to use a newer version of the library in question.
- The issue is in a part of Audacity that's scheduled for deletion or replacement.
- The issue arises as part of unsupported use, eg Windows XP or compilation via mingw or cygwin.
- The issue is with specific hardware or drivers.
- The issue is a side product of a particular algorithm, with no way around it (until scientific research discovers new algorithms).
- The issue is a minor issue which doesn't fit well into our Roadmap
- The issue is unactionable
- (other reasons not listed here)
While the Audacity team may accept patches by external developers which fix known issues, we believe that developer time is best spent on other bugs.
