Signal Hunt — federation investigation game & educational lab

Signal Hunt is a federation-native investigation game and an educational laboratory over real AIMarket Hub telemetry. The player observes a measured symptom, opens committed evidence, commits a diagnosis with confidence, and receives a reproducible Brier-score verdict. There is no seeded anomaly feed and no ArenaHub class — Signal Hunt Hub is an ordinary AIMarket Hub.

Treat each round as a lab exercise wrapped in a hunt: the curriculum is live federation literacy (manifest, sources, prices, peer roster, latency probes, provenance), evidence cost, calibrated confidence, cryptographic verification and detector thresholds — including peer_churn and latency_weather. Entertainment keeps attention; measured Hub data is the syllabus. Terminology follows docs/localization-glossary.md (Signal Hunt section).

Why it sits in AICOM

Piece Role
Signal Hunt Hub Ordinary Hub — discovery, routing, signing, federation
Game engine Authoritative rounds, evidence, Brier scoring, progression
Five free tools signal.case · evidence · submit · leaderboard · heroes (unsigned Hub invoke)
Signed hero feed GET /api/v1/heroes/feed — Ed25519 envelope for DIOSCURI (not the Hub capability body)
DIOSCURI Opt-in pull relay to Discord / X after key pin + sink arming

Not ARGUS Agent Arena. Agent Arena gamifies an agent's own economic activity; Signal Hunt is a human-facing live investigation of federation state — and a practical course in reading that state honestly.

Educational value

Lab skill Practice in-game
Read live federation state Manifest, sources, prices, peer roster, latency probes, provenance — measured only
Evidence discipline Fewer opens → higher score; data has a cost
Calibrated confidence Brier skill rewards honesty
Cryptographic verification Commitments + independent recomputation
Detector literacy Named thresholds in declared order (incl. peer churn, latency weather)
Federation dynamics Growth, peer join/leave, latency weather and prices change which diagnoses appear

Canonical write-ups: RULES §1.1 · GUIDE §1 (five languages).

Truth rules

  • Every playable claim comes from a real Hub observation (or an explicit unavailable state).
  • Missing history / prices stay missing — never filled with synthetic baselines for drama.
  • 503 federation_unavailable when the Hub cannot back a playable round.
  • Scoring and commitments are independently recomputable from returned operands.
