The Silverfield Mine is a silver mine a short ride outside of Silverfield on The Isle of Mists.

It is an old mine, with the elves who used to reside on the island using it for their silver production. The current owners, human slave traffickers, have expanded its tunnels to reach gemstones, iron, and other useful minerals. The workforce is mostly composed of dwarves, prized by the slavers for their mining expertise and hardy constitutions underground.

Used caverns have been converted into refineries, smithies, slave quarters, and storage. A mining cart system with rail cars and elevators is used to transport goods from the bottom of the mines to the surface. Typically, wagon trains filled with output from the mine leave twice per day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Human guards aren’t present in the mines beyond the entrance, allowing the dwarves to govern themselves. A foreman is given authority to run the mine as he pleases, along with a cadre of armed dwarven guards, topside privileges, and rather opulent living quarters.
