The western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) is a large primate. Native to central Africa.

Western lowland gorillas are a super rare spawn in deep rainforest biomes. They spawn in groups of 2-4. Male gorillas are rare, and represent only 25% of wild spawns. Male gorillas can be easily identified by their large size compared to females.

The western lowland gorilla is a medium speed, defensive animal. Gorillas display protective behavior, and if one is threatened, all in the area will come to its defense.

Keepers should be sure to bring a tranquilizer gun and enough darts to subdue an entire group if trying to capture a gorilla. Gorillas can only be caught in capture cages.

Western lowland gorillas have 3 natural variants: sterling, britannia, and tarnish. Leucistic, a mostly white variant, is a captive-bred color and does not spawn naturally. These are in-game color variants, not real subspecies!
