The hydroponics table is a block used to propagate and grow various plants with dried kelp as a fuel source. It is also the Botanist job site block!

Farming

Once a starting plant is found, the player can place plants in the first slot and dried kelp in the second slot of the hydroponics table. One plant item is enough for up to eight "propagation attempts," as long as eight dried kelp are provided.

The first plant item will be consumed immediately, and you'll know the process has begun. This is a slow process; while dried kelp exists, one attempt to create a new plant happens every 1000 ticks. There is a 50% chance of generating a new plant for each attempt.

Removing dried kelp during this process will immediately halt any propagation and waste precious time! However, the hydroponics table does remember if a plant item has been consumed and will only stay "active" for its total of 8000 ticks.

The hydroponics table has 5 slots to propagate new plants into. Every slot in the hydroponics table can store a whole stack (64) of corresponding items.
