Botanists are villagers that can help keepers obtain and maintain plants and gardens for their zoo.

Botanists seek shelter indoors at night. Like other villagers, they can use doors, but not gates or trapdoors.

Botanists appear as kind old gardeners, and are able to sell their plant growing and maintenance services to players.

Trading

Botanists need money to buy butter cookies and hard candies for your zoo guests, of course!

Botanists are a good way to obtain plants and landscaping items, especially bamboo which is needed to craft several zoo building blocks.

Botanists require a hydroponics table to refresh their trades.

Novice level trades

  • Coarse dirt x4 - 2 emeralds
  • Podzol x4 - 2 emeralds
  • Grass block x4 - 4 emeralds

Apprentice level trades

  • 1 emerald - Birch sapling x8
  • 1 emerald - Oak sapling x8
  • 1 emerald - Spruce sapling x8
  • Black bamboo x1 - 2 emeralds
  • Yellow bamboo x1 - 2 emeralds

Journeyman level trades

  • Acacia sapling x1 - 3 emeralds
  • Dark oak sapling x1 - 3 emeralds
  • Jungle sapling x1 - 3 emeralds
