Section	What it does
ALBUM	All albums as a grid. Albums are grouped by name.
BRANI (songs)	Every song, with shuffle. Click a column header to sort by title, artist, album or duration; click it again to reverse the order.
ARTISTI (artists)	Artists and their albums.
PREFERITI (favorites)	Songs with the heart, newest first.
PLAYLIST	Your playlists, with cover and description.
ASCOLTI (listening)	Stats for this month, this year or all time: plays, minutes, top songs, artists, albums and genres.
TELEFONO (phone)	Sync, import, lyrics and app install. See Syncing with the phone.
IMPOSTAZIONI (settings)	Library folders, duplicates, downloads, full screen, appearance and custom theme, window, audio output, equalizer, phone.

Click the XAOS logo to open this project on GitHub. When its dot pulses, a newer release is out and the click opens it.

Track menu

Right click a song, or use the three dots, for: favorite, add to playlist, VAI ALL'ALBUM (go to album), VAI ALL'ARTISTA (go to artist), MODIFICA INFO (edit info), TESTO (lyrics) and show in folder. The same menu opens with a right click on the playing song in the player bar.

Player

• Player bar: heart, transport, seek bar, volume (the mouse wheel over it changes the volume), lyrics, mini player, full screen.
• Full screen: large cover, up next, lyrics. Three backgrounds: dot grid, waveform (the whole song as dots; click to seek) and blurred artwork. "IN RIPRODUZIONE DA" (playing from) at the top takes you back to the album or playlist. Keys: F11 opens it from the main window; F11 or Esc closes it, Space plays or pauses, arrows skip 10 seconds.
• Mini player: a small card with a soft shadow that stays on top of other windows, with the cover or the lyrics (current line in the middle, the previous and next ones around it; long lines get smaller instead of being cut). Hover it for the volume bar and the buttons; the mouse wheel anywhere on the card changes the volume. Shuffle and favorite sit next to the transport buttons. Drag it anywhere; double click it, or use the button on the cover, to bring Xaos back.
• Minimise to mini player: in IMPOSTAZIONI > FINESTRA (window) you can choose what minimising does: hide Xaos in the taskbar as usual, or turn it into the mini player.
• Windows controls: previous, play and next under the taskbar thumbnail, the Windows media flyout, and the keyboard media keys.

Custom theme

IMPOSTAZIONI > ASPETTO (appearance) has light and dark theme and TEMA PERSONALIZZATO (custom theme). Turn it on and pick the colors you want, starting from the light or dark theme:

• SFONDO (background) and SFUMATURA (gradient): with a second color the background becomes a diagonal gradient;
• PANNELLI (panels): cards, menus and dialogs;
• TESTO (text): text and icons; the dimmer shades are derived from it;
• ACCENTO (accent): play button, accent dots, selections;
• PALLINI DI SFONDO: the dot grid behind the screens, on or off.

The color picker applies every change live. Colors left on default follow the light or dark theme.

Under PRESET, SALVA COME PRESET saves the colors you are using under a name; saving with a name that already exists updates that preset. Click a preset to apply it; the pencil renames it and the bin deletes it. Presets are shared with the phone when you sync; the theme in use is copied only when you ask, from the TELEFONO screen (see Syncing with the phone).

Lyrics

The microphone button opens the lyrics panel. Synced lyrics (LRC timestamps) follow the song and light up the current line; click a line to jump there. TESTO in the track menu opens the editor, where you can type lyrics or search LRCLIB. Lyrics are saved inside the file, and in its MP3 copy if there is one, so the phone can read them.

Editing

• MODIFICA INFO on a song writes title, artist, album, genre, year, track number and cover into the file.
• MODIFICA on an album changes album name, album artist, genre, year and cover for all its songs, and the track order: drag the handle or use the arrows. Saving turns each position into the track number.

Duplicates

The same song in the same album can exist in several files. Xaos shows it once:

• different formats (FLAC, MP3, M4A) are versions, not duplicates: the best one plays, and an MP3 copy is what goes to the phone;
• identical copies in the same format are listed in IMPOSTAZIONI > DOPPIONI, where you can move them to the Recycle Bin.

Your data

Settings, the library index, favorites, playlists, history and caches live in %USERPROFILE%\.xaos. Uninstalling Xaos does not remove them.

Only one copy of Xaos runs at a time: opening it again brings the running one to the front.
