PnK: Bleaching Powder

PinklySheep adds a new generated nether ore Bleaching Ore to the game. The ore is fairly common and the veins are usually 2-4 blocks in size. When you mine bleaching ore you get 2-6 Bleaching Crystals which you can use as-is or as an ingredient in Bleaching Powder. The crystal drop rate is affected by the Fortune enchantment: 8 is the maximum number of crystals you can get per ore block, 2 is the minimum. Occasionally, you will also get a little bit of dropped experience.

Like the names suggest, bleaching crystals and bleaching powder are used to bleach (or leech) color out of items. In particular you can use the powder to remove color from wool blocks or to create our Dye Powders. You can also use the crystals to remove the color from red sand, stained clay blocks, or stained glass blocks.

Recipe

Main Uses

Use the powder to double or triple production of Dye Powders from standard source materials like ink sacs and lapis gems or from other materials such as coal.

Use the powder to bleach color from wool blocks. Note that this only works for wool blocks dropped from standard Minecraft sheep.

Use the crystals themselves to bleach color from red sand, stained clay, or stained glass. In all cases, you surround one crystal with 8 of the blocks you want to bleach. You can mix-and-match different colors.

Other Uses

You can use the bleaching crystals to bleach wooden planks to a lighter counterpart. This only works for standard Minecraft wood planks. The available recipes are: Acacia to Jungle, Dark Oak to Spruce, Spruce to Oak, and Oak to Birch. In all cases, you surround one crystal with 8 of the planks you want to bleach.

One of the big features of PinklySheep is the Beanstalk. Once you've raided a beanstalk or two, it's very likely you'll find yourself with a few locked, loudly-colored shulker boxes you'd like to reuse. You can use 3 bleaching crystals to bleach these boxes back to an unlocked, base shulker box. The input shulker box must be empty for this recipe to activate. This recipe is a bit expensive but you can use it to clear the box's lock value if you don't have another mod that can do that.
