Introduction

Our Enemy design consists of multiple types. We design many types of enemies including orc enemies and beast enemies. Their attack mode also includes ranged and melee combat.

Background

We consulted a lot of materials on the Internet before designing the enemy's appearance.

Analysis and Conclusion

We chose to use Photoshop or Aseprite to draw enemies and make GIFs. We had a discussion before designing the enemies and decided that one would be responsible for the beast and one for the Orc.

Design 1

The first draft design of the beast is wolf.

wolf (1)

But through the discussion in class, I found that some people think this design is too ordinary. So I made some changes to replace the wolf tail bar with a snake. This design changes the attack mode of the wolf from melee to long-range. Through discussions in class, we decided to make isometric pixel art. This is a lot harder than flat pixel art. I learned through the Internet that using grid and guideline functions can effectively help us draw isometric pixel art. aaa

With the help of lines, I successfully drew the first complete isometric pixel wolf. wolf(2)

Then I designed the movement and attack in four directions and made them into gif animations.

Design 2

Based on the fact that the game contains elements of Atlantis, I colored enemy's theme blue and used Photoshop to create two 2D.

2D Snake

After this week's studio discussion so the designers have reached a consensus, set the role of the perspective to use 2.5D

So I transformed the 2D sketch into 2.5D and made a cut in the image to make enemy look more like a snake.

2.5D Snake

Because the snake can swim in the water, the scene of the snake's appearance is set to the sea and swim to the land

Design 3

2D Slime

When creating the second enemy image, I designed a Slime image and the overall color was blue, more in line with the Atlantean elements.

But when I was about to transform 2.5D, I discussed with my team members and found that most of the current enemy images are related to animals and there is no humanoid enemy. finally I gave up the image design of Slime and designed a small blue human image instead.

The overall image is also blue and embellished with yellow, the character's weapon is two anchors can be fired to attack players at long range.
