Description

As the final game story and design style had been fleshed out, the previous projectile design for the ranged enemy needed adjustments. As the long range enemy and tough range enemy got redesigned to match the shadowcrawler theme, their projectiles needed to match. It was also determined that as there were two different ranged enemies, their projectiles should be somewhat different to assist the player in knowing which enemy is near and attacking them.

Long Range Projectile

As the long range enemy's redesign continued to protray an eye, the projectile also continued to portray a blood ball. However, as it was decided that the enemy blood would be purple, the blood ball is now also purple to match this. Alongside this new colour change, the long range projectile also needed some physical adjustments to it's shape to portray a more realistic ball of blood that would be hurtling through the air. This was done by creating a more organic shape with trails of blood dripping behind it. long range projectile

Tough Range Projectile

As the tough range enemy has been redesigned, the projectile needed to become a unique asset that matched the new enemy. It was decided by the group that a spike would become the new projectile. Below are some inspirations to the new design:

These inspirations influenced the sketch below, which is meant to mimic the style of the hedgehog/porcupine needle/quill, which will then act similarly to the second image, with it shooting out like a blow dart.
