Progression Mini Map - UQcsse3200/2026-studio-1 GitHub Wiki
Overview
The progression mini-map is a vertical HUD indicator that displays the player's overall progress through Levels 1, 2, and 3. It appears beneath the player ability indicators.
The player's head is used as the current-position marker. A white vertical line represents the route, and white dots mark the boundaries between the three levels.
Progress Calculation
The mini-map divides overall progress into three ranges:
- Level 1 occupies the bottom third.
- Level 2 occupies the middle third.
- Level 3 occupies the top third.
Levels 1 and 2 calculate progress using the player's vertical position. In Level 3, moving farther to the right moves the marker upward because the palace level progresses horizontally.
Progress is clamped to the mini-map boundaries so the marker remains on the line.
Implementation
The feature is implemented by ProgressionMiniMapDisplay and integrated into the game HUD.

Testing
Six automated tests cover:
- Map-path level identification
- Level 1 vertical progress
- Level 2 vertical progress
- Level 3 horizontal progress
- Progress boundary clamping
- Component creation with the player marker
The mini-map was also manually tested across all three levels to verify its position, size, appearance, and marker movement.
