Consumables
Map version 1.6
Consumables are the only things that go in your hero's 6 inventory slots (relics never do), one per slot: they don't stack, so you carry at most 6. Use them like any item: click the item or press its inventory key.
Getting consumables
Consumables are never dropped on the ground. Instead you pick 1 of 3 cards:
| Source | Picks |
|---|---|
| Clearing a Combat or Elite room | 25% chance of 1 pick (each hero rolls their own) |
| Clearing a Miniboss room | 1 pick |
| Clearing a Boss room | 2 picks |
| Supplies reward | 3 picks (6 from an elite room) |
| Shop merchant | 2 consumables for sale, 50 gold each (not with a full bag) |
- The 3 cards are always different consumables. Healing Potion and Renewal Potion are three times as common as the others.
- A card whose item doesn't fit in your bag (no free slot) can't be taken.
- Skip passes a pick. Reroll draws new cards and uses one of the run's rerolls (Rerolls in the Shard Shop).
- The consumable picks of a room come before its other reward.
Potions and bombs
These work once, at once or for a few seconds.
| Consumable | Effect |
|---|---|
| Healing Potion | Restores 40% of your max life. |
| Renewal Potion | Takes 8 seconds off all your skill cooldowns. |
| Rejuvenation Draught | Restores 60% of your max life over 10 seconds. |
| Elixir of Fury | +50% attack speed for 15 seconds. |
| Swiftness Tonic | +120 movement speed for 10 seconds. |
| Fire Bomb | Throw a bomb (range 700) that explodes after a moment, dealing 40 + 20 per hero level damage to enemies within 250. |
Tonics
Tonics last a number of fight rooms instead of seconds. While one is on, your hero shows its status icon (hover it for the rooms left), and every fight room start tells you which tonics are still on.
| Tonic | Effect | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Elixir of Might | You and your minions deal 20% more damage. | 5 rooms |
| Bottled Heart | Restores 30% of your max life at the start of every room (and right away when drunk during a fight). | 6 rooms |
| Lucky Chest | Every enemy you help kill gives you 4 gold. | 6 rooms |
| Seer's Eye | Every relic choice offers 4 relics to choose from. | 7 rooms |
| Quicksilver | Your skill cooldowns are 25% shorter. | 4 rooms |
How the rooms are counted:
- Only fight rooms count (Combat, Elite, Miniboss, Boss). The start room and the Shop don't.
- Drunk during a fight, that room is its first. Drunk between rooms (after a clear, or in the Shop), the next fight room is its first.
- A tonic stays on through the reward of its last room and wears off when the next fight room starts.
- Drinking a tonic that is still on adds its rooms.
- "Help kill" (Lucky Chest) uses kill credit: the last hitter and everyone who dealt at least 20% of the party's damage to that enemy.
Relics that help
- Apothecary's Satchel (any hero): your tonics last 2 more rooms, and your potions heal 50% more.
- Greedy Idol, Hoarder's Crown and friends are on the Relics page.
Tips
- Bottled Heart and Elixir of Might are best drunk between rooms, so the coming fight counts as their first room.
- Save Seer's Eye for a stretch with Relic rewards, a miniboss or a boss ahead.
- Renewal Potion right after casting your ultimate gets it back 8 seconds sooner.
