Geothermal Generator - TinyModularThings/IC2Classic GitHub Wiki

The Geothermal Generator is a one cubic meter machine that generates a decent amount of EU using lava. Lava is a naturally occurring resource that is found deep underground, on surface pools, and in the dreaded Nether. Why not put all that molten rock to good use in your Geothermal Generator!

There are several versatile options available to you when operating your generator. It works butted up against a machine or an energy storage device, or attached to a copper cable or better. You can manually place filled lava buckets or cells in it, or you can pipe lava in. Efficiency in this machine is improved in this model; when power has nowhere to flow, it stops burning fuel unlike the basic Generator. However you wish to upgrade your energy infrastructure, the Geothermal Generator has your needs covered.

You can also click with a fluid container like a Lava Bucket on to the Geothermal Generator and it will auto fill the tank and empty the Fluid Container. Another case is to use automation upgrades to unlock its inventory for item insertion.

Power Data

Max Production: 20 EU/t (LV)
1,000mB (Lava): 20,000 EU
Energy Storage: 20 EU

Known issues

  • Geothermal generators are known to uncommonly/rarely get stuck if there is a energy loss between it and the energy receiver. This can really only happen if there is a slow drain and it flips to odd EU numbers in its energy buffer.
