Usage
The cooking pot is used to cook soups and stews, boil meats or evaporate salt water into sea salt. The cooking pot is placed on the fire pit by shift + right clicking a fire pit with a cooking pot. The cooking pot can be removed from the fire pit by shift + right clicking the side of an empty pot that is covered with its lid with an empty hand.
Firewood can be added to the cooking pot by either tossing a log onto the pot or right clicking the side of the pot with a log. The log will appear as one of four logs under the pot and up to 4 logs can be added to the pot. The cooking pot can be lit with either a firestarter or flint & steel by right clicking the side of a pot containing at least one log.
Before anything can be added to the inside of the cooking pot, the lid must first be removed by shift + right clicking the top of the pot with an empty hand. Fluids and ingredients can then be added to the pot by clicking the top of the pot with the item. Fluids can be added to or removed from the cooking pot by clicking the top of a pot with a bucket, jug or bowl. Ingredients can be added to the pot by right clicking the top of the pot with an item. If the item is greater than 2 oz., then a knife will be required in the hotbar and it will take damage, otherwise a knife is not required. As each item is added to the pot, the item can be seen inside the pot. The last item can be removed from the pot by right clicking the top of the uncovered pot with an empty hand.
The cooking pot must reach the appropriate temperature before the recipe will begin to cook. Once the appropriate temperature has been reached, the pot will begin to emit steam particles and continue to emit steam until it is done cooking. Once the pot is done cooking, the lid on the pot will be moved to the side revealing the contents of the pot. To retrieve the contents, first remove the lid by shift + right clicking the top of the pot. Most recipes produce a fluid that requires a bowl, simply right click the top of the pot with a bowl to fill it with the fluid. Broth requires a jug and can be retrieved by right clicking the top of the pot with the jug. Cooked items can be retrieved by right clicking the top of the pot with an empty hand. Recipes are listed in the NEI and indicate the required fluid and ingredients with their respective quantities.
