Testing and calibrating the Radio Music module - Spandex/RadioMusic GitHub Wiki
##Test the power supply
- Remove the Teensy, don't install the TL074 yet
- Check the diodes and electrolytic capacitors are all aligned the right way
- Inspect all the solder points on the board - I often find I've missed a pin somewhere.
- If you want to do a pre-flight check:
- NB: The 5v regulator is grounded through the Teensy itself. To test without the Teensy in place you need to run a wire from the GND pin to AGND pin (see the card that came with your Teensy)
- Plug the back board into a power header and check:
- +12v at pin 4 of the TL074 (NB, that IC is 'upside down' - pin 1 is at the bottom)
- -12v at pin 11 of the TL074
- +5v at the Vin pin for the Teensy. NB you will only see 5v here if you have a ground wire running between GND and AGND
- NB: The 5v regulator is grounded through the Teensy itself. To test without the Teensy in place you need to run a wire from the GND pin to AGND pin (see the card that came with your Teensy)
##Finish Assembly
- Add the TL074 IC (NB, that IC is 'upside down' - pin 1 is towards the two polybox capacitors )
- Add the Teensy, with the firmware in place.
##Calibration
- Connect the power header and a patch cable to your modular output
- The trimmer on the back sets the output volume - adjust to your needs to avoid distortion
