Organisers

• Matthew is the facilitator.
• The organisers are: Amélie, Alex, Ian and Chris
• When we're on duty, we'll wear a purple lanyard with SoCraTes' logo so you can recognise us easily. Contact us with any questions or concerns.

Venue

• The fire exits are clearly marked, we do not expect any test alarms so please exit if there is an alarm. There are toilets downstairs and between reception and the bedrooms.
• The furniture in the rooms can be re-arranged as you need, please ask the venue staff for help before you dismantle any furniture e.g. the tables in the small rooms have latches to pull them apart.
• The key card for the rooms are quite sensitive: avoid having them near phones & credit cards.
• Please don't use tape on the walls, the paint will come off. Sticky notes are fine.
• We don't anticipate any issues but the venue is used by other guests as well. Please be mindful of not leaving valuables unattended.
• Please treat the staff, other guests and the venue with respect, we do want to come back next year!

Sponsors

• Thanks to our sponsor, we can run the conference this year. Thank you to cyber dojo! Check out their practice environment :)
• There is no swag from sponsors this year but we'll still have a table where you can leave any items you'd like to share.

Covid Precautions

• Ventilate where possible, and think of outdoor sessions
• Mask indoors
• Test every day (before you leave your room)

Food

• People with severe allergy: Please request a special plate from the kitchen, provide them with your allergies and they will prepare your meal.
• Check meal times and food options on the Wiki. Each meal has vegetarian and vegan options and will be served as a buffet. You can join and leave as you wish.

Code of Conduct & Photography policy

• Please remind yourself of the CoC and photography policy. They're on the website. Please do not photograph anyone with a yellow lanyard. If you have questions or want to report unacceptable behaviour, contact the organisers

Drinking

• The bar will serve alcohol during the night as long as people keep buying. Please drink responsibly. Drinks from the bar or during meals are charged individually, you can put them on your room and pay at checkout.
• If you'd like an alcohol free session or space, please speak to the organisers and we will be happy to make it happen.

Internet

Mobile reception is reasonable, and there is some wifi. Ideally please do not use it to download movies or other large files so as to keep the bandwidth free for others.

Sharing is caring

• We do want to put some new photos on the website, so please do take lots of photos and share them - hashtag #SoCraTesUK
• if you're missing something, like adapters or chargers, do ask around. Use the Slack channel #ev_socratesuk or social media if needed.
• And do post about your experience as well, we want more people to know about this event

Wiki

• Use the wiki! Especially for capturing what happens in sessions
