SQL FineBuild can install Machine Learning Services to provide support for R, Python, etc. Machine Learning Services can only be installed on SQL2016 and above.

The install media for Machine Learning Services must be downloaded before running SQL FineBuild. If you do not want to install Machine Learning Services then do not download the install media.

The required install media for Machine Learning Services is different for each version of SQL Server. Additionally, including a CU with the SQL Server install allows the use of upgraded Machine Learning install media.

This page is valid for all versions of SQL Server. If you want to install R Services the files starting SRO and SRS must be downloaded. If you want to install Python the files starting SPO and SPS must be downloaded

All files downloaded must be put in the \Additional Components folder

If you want to install Machine Learning Services you should also include the following parameter when SQL FineBuild is run:

/SetupAnalytics:YES
