These men are the elite unit of the Attalid army, hand picked from the ranks of the Macedonian phalanx for their physicality, bravery and experience. In the tradition of the Pezhetairoi and Argyraspides, they would occupy the honorary space on the right wing of the main battle line, from where they could deliver a lethal blow to the enemy.
