Events 2013 RSNA breakout - QIICR/ProjectIssuesAndWiki GitHub Wiki
###Logistics Dec 2, 2013 (Monday), 14:00 Central time
Meeting location: QUIBA slicer booth
Participants:
- Ron Kikinis, BWH
- Jayashree Kalpathy-Cramer, MGH
- Steve Pieper, Isomics Inc.
- David Clunie
- XML version of DICOM Spec
- SOP and IOD
- SR Templates
- David is working on an XML version of the spec. We discussed the tradeoffs in trying to parse the spec to create schemas to validate documents and automate UI generation. We agreed that we should continue to investigate things like JSONSchema and JSON Schema Validator (JSV) but be driven by practical requirements of QIICR DBP scenarios.
- The XML version of the spec will allow better indexing of the documentation, allowing creation of a better dicom lookup site for hyperlinking header displays.
- Jayashree described her use cases for AIM templates and the AIM template builder. Steve and Jayashree were able to meet with Pat Mongkolwat to get a demo of AIM in ClearCanvas to better understand how we can interoperate and build on their work.
- We reviewed the state of DICOM Application Hosting and discussed that in the future it might make sense to propose Slicer (CTK) Command Line Interface (CLI) Modules as a DICOM spec. Before this would make sense we should make the CLI infrastructure more DICOM-aware.
- We discussed possible database options (SQL/NoSQL) and the tradeoffs between XML and JSON.
- In discussing work/scheduling priorities for David, support of floating point volume data in DICOM was identified as a good near term target (to remove valid researcher objections to using DICOM as a storage format).
