Introduction Tutorial - PurdueSIGGD/KillerPlatform GitHub Wiki
New Here? Just got off the boat? Well here's a tutorial, to get you started!
###1. Github Github functions as our way to store files and collaborate as a team. Github hosts our git repository, which is a version control system (VCS) and keeps track of all our changes made to the project.
- Register a Github Account if you do not have one.
- Harass Simon, Lee Anne, or email [email protected] with your Github name requesting access.
- An email will be sent to you, accepting it will let you join the PurdueSIGGD group on Github.
- Clone the Repository with a Git client (A List Here) * If you need help Simon and/or other people will be glad to help!
- That's it! You don't need anything else with Github.
###2. Trello Trello functions as our to-do board. We assign people tasks and monitor their progress through them.
- Register at Trello
- Again, contact Simon, Lee Anne, or email [email protected] with your Trello username requesting access.
###3. Unreal Engine 4 Unreal Engine 4 is our current game engine we are using for this semester. This is already installed in Lawson B160 as well as the Windows labs in Hass. You do not need an account to use UE4.
- Log in, and boot up UE4.
- Hit "go offline."
- Launch the engine.
- Find the SIGGD project you downloaded from Github and open the project.
- Develop a game!
Again if you have any questions just ask! Everyone is happy to help.
